About Me

Chris and Nova

Launched in 2023 as a resource for Autistic people and caregivers of people with Autism, this site is dedicated to providing first-hand advice from an Autistic adult. My wife and I have scoured the internet and social media for a “raw” experience when handling issues related to Autism. Many influencers and bloggers try to show Autism with a bright, shiny bow. However anyone living with Autism or caring for someone who is autistic knows it isn’t all sunshine and rainbows. It involves meltdowns, lack of communication, lots of planning, confrontation, and so much more. Our goal is to provide you with a real resource where you can get real advice at more than face value.

If you are a caregiver of someone with Autism or you are autistic, you will feel right at home with our blog. There are no fancy backdrops, getting dressed up, or anything of that sort. Our videos and content will show what it is like day to day, and how to deal with real issues that arise everyday. We will cover everyday topics from forgetting basic hygiene tasks to sleep issues. We will also cover more in depth topics like how getting diagnosed as a kid could have changed my life or how my parents could have approached things differently to get better outcomes.

I am a 34 year old Autistic guy from Fort Worth. I was diagnosed professionally in 2022. I always knew I was different and that something seemed wrong with me. I had trouble communicating. I didn’t understand social norms. I struggle to understand spirituality. My wife, who is a certified Teacher in Texas, is neurotypical and realized one day that I and one of our daughters demonstrate many of the same attributes as her kids with Autism. We pursued a diagnosis for our daughter, and once she was diagnosed, we pursued a diagnosis for me. Our lives were upended, but life made so much more sense. We changed our life approach, and things have been so much better. I plan to take these experiences and help you see the world from an Autistic point of view, so maybe you can feel as fantastic as I do now.
